Short version: you can use every tool on SteelToeTools without creating an account or giving us any personal information. What you type into a calculator, permit or form stays in your browser.
1. Who we are
SteelToeTools is operated by LSEA SAS, a company registered in France. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
2. What we collect
- Nothing you type into tools. Calculators and document generators run entirely in your browser. Inputs are processed on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. Some tools save a draft in your browser's local storage so you don't lose your work; you can clear it with the tool's "Clear" button or your browser settings.
- Contact messages. If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address and message you provide, plus the page you were on, so we can answer you. We keep messages for as long as needed to handle them and to keep a record of corrections.
- Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept for a limited time.
- Aggregate usage. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools and pages are used (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). It sets first-party cookies and IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. We do not build individual profiles and we do not sell personal information. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
3. Cookies and advertising
The site is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. When ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. We do not set advertising cookies ourselves.
4. Your choices and rights
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, or to opt out of personalized advertising on this site, use the contact page or the ad settings link above. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have equivalent rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR.
5. Children
SteelToeTools is intended for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Third-party links
We link to official sources such as osha.gov and cdc.gov/niosh. Their privacy practices are their own.
