No. Nothing is issued for taking this practice test — no card, no certificate, no credential. The DOL card comes only from an OSHA-authorized trainer at the end of a real 30-hour class. Anyone selling you a card without a class is selling you a problem.

Under OSHA's Outreach Training Program procedures for construction, instructional time must be at least 30 hours: 14 required hours (Introduction to OSHA 1 hour, Managing Safety and Health 2 hours, the Focus Four 6 hours with at least 1 hour 30 minutes on falls, PPE 2 hours, Health Hazards in Construction 2 hours, Stairways and Ladders 1 hour), at least 12 elective hours covering at least six listed topics, and 4 optional hours. This practice test follows the same map.

The 10-hour class is aimed at entry-level workers; the 30-hour class is aimed at workers with some safety responsibility, which is why it adds Managing Safety and Health, more depth on health hazards, and far more elective ground. OSHA's procedures also limit training to 7.5 student contact hours per calendar day, so a 30-hour class must run over at least four calendar days.

The questions are written under federal OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926). About half the states run their own State Plans, which federal OSHA must approve, which have to be at least as effective as the federal standards, and which are sometimes stricter — California, Washington, Oregon and Michigan in particular. Check your state's rule before you rely on a number on the job.

You get the correct answer and the explanation after each question, and a score at the end. The 70% shown is only what a typical class quiz would ask for — it has no official meaning, and this test is not a class requirement.
